Oil pastel drawings can be a beautiful way to decorate your home, but when they get on your draperies and curtains, it can be a tricky stain to remove. Fortunately, with right materials and techniques, you can remove those oily stains with ease.

What You’ll Need:
- Dish soap
- White vinegar
- Clean cloths
- Bucket
- Rubber gloves
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Wear rubber gloves before beginning. This will protect your skin from harsh chemicals.
- Mix together one part dish soap with three parts white vinegar into a bucket of lukewarm water.
- Dip clean cloths into the soapy mixture and wring out excess water before dabbing onto the stained area of drapery or curtain.
- Continue this process until stain is gone.
- Rinse the area with clean water and an additional clean cloth.
- Allow drapery or curtain to air dry.
Additional Tips
- Always test any cleaning solution in an inconspicuous area before using on a stainer area.
- If the stain does not come out with the soap and vinegar mixture, you can try spot cleaning with a grease cutting detergent.
- You may also use a fabric spray specially designed to remove oil pastel stains.
