Step 1: Create a Paste

Start by making a cleaning paste out of baking soda and water. The ratio should be three parts baking soda to one part water. Mix the two together until you have a thick paste that is spreadable.

Step 2: Apply the Paste to Stain

Once you have prepared the paste, apply it directly to oil pastel stain. Allow the paste to sit for 10 minutes so that it has time to absorb the stain.

Step 3: Remove the Paste

Finally, use a damp cloth to remove the paste and staining. You may need to repeat this step multiple times until the stain has completely been removed.

Tips & Warnings

Be sure to test your cleaning paste on an inconspicuous area of the crepe fabric before applying it to the stain. Also, make sure to follow the fabric care label of your crepe as some cleaning techniques may cause damage or color loss.
