What You Will Need:
- Liquid laundry detergent containing enzymes
- Oxi-Clean or other similar enzyme pre-treatment spray
- White terrycloth towel
- Soft bristled brush
- Cotton swabs
- Hot water
Steps to Remove the Stain:
- Gently scrape any excess oil pastel from the fabric using a soft bristled brush.
- Spray the stained area with the pre-treatment and let it sit for 5-10 minutes.
- Using the white towel, dab the stained area by pressing lightly until the stain is lifted.
- Rinse the stained area with hot water.
- Apply liquid detergent directly to the stain and let it sit for 10-15 minutes.
- Apply a dab of detergent to the stained area and work it into the fabric using a soft bristled brush.
- Rinse stained area with hot water until all of detergent is removed.
- If the stain still remains, repeat steps 5-7 until the stain is gone.
Additional Tips:
- Always follow the directions for your particular fabric and pre-treatment spray.
- Be sure to test your chosen pre-treatment or detergent on an inconspicuous part of the garment first to ensure compatibility.
- For hard to reach areas, use a cotton swab to apply pre-treatment or detergent.
