Using a soft-bristled brush, scrape away as much of the excess oil pastel as possible. Don't use too much pressure – you don't want to rub the stain in deeper.
Soak the stained area in cold water for at least 5 minutes. This will make the oil pastel easier to remove.
Using a gentle detergent or soap, gently rub the stained area with your thumb or fingers. Make sure to use gentle motions to avoid rubbing the stain further into the fabric.
Once you've rubbed the area with detergent or soap, soak it in warm water for at least 10 minutes. This will help break down the oils in the oil pastel and make it easier to remove.
Finally, wash the area with cold water. This will help finish removing any remaining traces of oil pastel.
And there you have it – five simple steps to get rid of oil pastel stains on charmeuse fabric!
