The first step to removing an oil pastel stain is to blot up any excess oil with a paper towel or tissue. Do not rub, as this can spread the stain and make it worse.
The next step is to apply a dry-cleaning solvent to the stained area. This can be found at most local grocery stores. Apply the solvent to a small cloth, and then gently dab at the stain. Do not rub, as this will only serve to spread the stain.
Once the dry-cleaning solvent has been applied, it’s time to pre-treat the stain with detergent. Mix a few drops of mild detergent in a cup of warm water, and then apply it to the stain. Allow it to sit for 5 minutes before blotting it up with a clean cloth.
Once you have treated the stain with detergent, it’s time to wash the lace as usual. Make sure to follow the washing instructions provided by the manufacturer of the lace.
Once the lace has been washed, it’s time to let it air-dry. Hang it up in a well ventilated area, and make sure that it does not come in contact with any direct sunlight. This will ensure that stain does not set permanently.
