Steps to Clean an Oil Pastel Stain from Capris

  1. Blot the stained area with a damp cloth or paper towel to absorb any excess oil.
  2. Create a mixture of three parts baking soda to one part warm water and apply it to the stained area. Let it sit for fifteen minutes.
  3. Rinse the area with cold water.
  4. Apply liquid detergent (or laundry pre-treatment spray) to the oil stain and let sit for at least ten minutes.
  5. Wash the capris in the washing machine using the hottest temperature setting recommended on the care label.
  6. Check the stained area after washing; if the stain is still present, repeat steps 2 through 5.
  7. Hang capris to dry.
