Oil pastels are a great art medium that allow you to create beautiful and colorful works of art. Unfortunately, they can also leave behind an unwelcome mess in the form of oil pastel stains on clothing, like a camisole. Fortunately, there are a few simple steps you can take to get rid of the stain and make sure your camisole looks good as new.

Steps to Follow

  • First, take the camisole and place it on a flat surface. Cover the stain with paper towels or a clean cloth, and soak up as much of the oil pastel colorant as possible.
  • Next, apply a small amount of dishwashing soap directly onto the stained area. Use a gentle motion with a soft-bristle brush or a soft cloth to lightly scrub the area.
  • Rinse the area with warm water.
  • If the stain still remains, mix a solution of ¼ cup of white vinegar with one gallon of warm water. Soak stained area for 15 minutes and then rinse with warm water.
  • After rinsing stained area, apply a dab of liquid laundry detergent with a soft bristled brush. Gently rub the detergent into stain.
  • Rinse the area again with warm water.
  • After the stain has been removed, gently machine wash the camisole following directions on the garment's care tag.
  • Finally, let the camisole air dry or put it in a clothes dryer on the lowest heat setting.

With these simple steps, you should be able to remove the oil pastel stain from your camisole. It may take a few attempts and some patience, but the end result is worth it!
