Step 1: Blot Up Excess Oil

Using a cloth or paper towel, gently blot up any excess oil still on the surface of the fabric. Do not rub or scrub the stain, as this may only spread the oil further and make the stain even more difficult to remove. You may need to repeat this step several times in order to absorb as much of oil as possible.

Step 2: Apply Dry Cleaning Fluid

Dry cleaning fluid is an effective way to remove oil pastel stains. Using a clean cloth, apply some of the fluid to the stained area and let it sit for two to three minutes. Then, gently dab the area until the stain has been absorbed by the cloth.

Step 3: Rinse Throoughly

Rinse the area with lukewarm water to remove any remaining traces of the dry cleaning fluid. Be sure to rinse thoroughly until all of fluid is gone. If necessary, repeat Steps 2 and 3 until stain is completely gone.

Step 4: Air Dry

Once the stain is gone, leave the area to air dry. Be sure not to use a clothes dryer, as this may set the stain and make it even harder to remove. Wait until area is completely dry before using the broomstick lace once again.
