What You'll Need

  • Clean cloths
  • Laundry detergent
  • White vinegar

Step 1: Blot the Stain

Gently blot oil pastel stain with a damp cloth, taking care not to spread the stain. Don't scrub or rub, as this could cause the stain to set further into fabric.

Step 2: Apply Detergent

Mix a teaspoon of laundry detergent with two cups of warm water. Wet a clean cloth in the solution and gently dab at the stain until stain begins to come out. Rinse the cloth and repeat this process until you can no longer see the stain.

Step 3: Use White Vinegar

If detergent doesn't completely remove the stain, mix one part white vinegar to two parts warm water. Apply solution to the stained area with a clean cloth and let it sit for 15 minutes. Rinse the stained area with cold water and repeat this process until the stain is gone.

Step 4: Dry & Iron

Once the stain is completely gone, lay the blazer flat and let it air dry. Once it's completely dry, use a steam iron to press the area where the stain was, to help fabric regain its original shape.

Conclusion

With these simple steps, you can easily and effectively remove oil pastel stains from your blazer. Just remember to be gentle when blotting stain and never scrub or rub the fabric, as this could cause the stain to set further into the fabric.
