How to Get Rid of Nail Polish Stains From Wedges Quickly and Easily

When nail polish spills onto your shoes, such as wedges, it can be a difficult mess to clean up. It’s important to act quickly to protect your shoes from further damage. If the nail polish is still wet, be sure to remove any excess material with a paper towel or soft cloth. You don’t want the polish to spread and create an even bigger mess.
Once excess has been removed, you can begin to clean the area with a few simple household products. Start by mixing a solution of equal parts white vinegar and warm water. Dip a cloth into this mixture, making sure that it’s fully saturated before cleaning the stained area. You should also use a gentle circular motion when wiping. This will help break down the nail polish, making it easier to remove.
If the stain isn’t removed after using vinegar, try using rubbing alcohol instead. Dip a cloth into the alcohol, then gently rub it into the stained area. Be sure to use a light touch, as rubbing too hard can damage the delicate material of your shoes.
If neither method works, you can also try dabbing hydrogen peroxide onto the stain. Make sure to test the material in a discreet area first, as hydrogen peroxide can cause discoloration. Use a cloth to dab on the solution, then allow it to sit for a few minutes before wiping away.
After using any of these methods, make sure to rinse the area with cool water and dry it completely with a soft towel. If the stain still doesn’t budge, try using a mild cleaner or degreaser to remove the remaining residue.
