Step 1: Pre-Treat with Dish Soap

The first step in learning how to clean nail polish stains from umbrellas is to pre-treat the affected area with dish soap and warm water. Dip a soft cloth into the soapy water and gently dab the stained area. Allow it to sit for about 15 minutes then rinse it off with cool water.

Step 2: Clean with White Vinegar

Mix a solution of equal parts white vinegar and warm water in a bucket. Take a clean cloth and dip it into the solution. Gently scrub the stained area. Let it sit for a few minutes before rinsing with a clean, damp cloth.

Step 3: Spot Treat with Rubbing Alcohol

If the stain still remains, use rubbing alcohol to spot treat the area. Dip a cotton swab into the alcohol and dab it onto stained area. Be sure to be gentle and do not scrub the area. Allow thealcohol to sit for about 30 minutes before rinsing with cool water.
