Removing nail polish from twill can be a bit tricky. Fortunately, with the right tips and tricks, you can get those stubborn stains out in no time. Here's what you need to know about cleaning nail polish from twill:

  • Start by gently blotting the stain with a damp cloth.
  • Mix two parts water with one part white vinegar, then use the solution to gently scrub the stain.
  • If there is still a stain left after scrubbing, try gently dabbing it with rubbing alcohol.
  • When the stain is removed, rinse fabric with cold water and launder as usual.

Sometimes even gentlest of scrubbing and dabbing isn't enough to remove the stain. If that happens, try using an oxygen-based bleach, like OxiClean or Clorox 2. Follow the package instructions and soak the fabric in a deep sink or bucket filled with very hot water and the oxygen-based bleach.

Be sure to thoroughly rinse the fabric after treating with oxygen-based bleach and allow it to air dry. Once the fabric is dry, double check for any remaining stains. If so, repeat the process.

If all else fails, it may be time to enlist the help of a dry cleaner. While a professional dry cleaner may be able to remove some of the tougher stains, it's best to call ahead and confirm that they can help you with your nail polish stain problem.
