Removing Fresh Nail Polish Stains

  • Start by rinsing out the stain with cold water right away.
  • Rub a liquid dish detergent into the stain and let it sit for a few minutes.
  • Rinse the detergent off with cool water and repeat the process until the stain is gone.
  • If stain persists, use a bleaching product such as chlorine bleach or a color-safe bleach. Be sure to follow the instructions on the label.
  • Afterwards, rinse out the fabric with water again and hang it to dry.

Removing Dried Nail Polish Stains

  • Begin by soaking stained area in white vinegar for at least thirty minutes.
  • Dab undiluted rubbing alcohol onto the stain with a clean cloth or cotton ball.
  • Wait a few minutes before blotting area with a cloth or towel.
  • Continue to dab the rubbing alcohol onto area until the stain is gone.
  • Rinse out the fabric with cold water and hang it to dry.
