Soap and Water

The first DIY approach to try is to apply some soap and water directly to the stain. Natural soaps like castile soap will work best here, but even basic laundry detergent can be helpful. Allow the soap solution to soak into the stain for at least 30 minutes, then rinse with cold water.

Liquid Detergent

If the first solution does not do the trick, create a mixture of 1 cup of liquid detergent and 2 cups of cold water. Apply the solution to stain, then place a damp cloth over it. Place an iron set to low heat over the cloth and continue to move the iron around until the stain disappears. Once it's gone, rinse the area with cold water.

Methylated Spirits

A more extreme solution to try is to mix 1/3 cup of methylated spirits with 2/3 cup of cold water. Rub the solution into the stain, then rinse with cold water. Be sure to use both meths and cold water in equal parts; any difference could cause discoloration of the fabric.
