What You'll Need
- Bucket
- Water
- Laundry detergent
- White vinegar
- Paper towels
- Old toothbrush
Instructions
- Fill a bucket with one quart of lukewarm water.
- Add two tablespoons of laundry detergent and one cup of white vinegar to the water.
- Soak the stained area of the sweatshirt in the mixture for an hour.
- After an hour, remove the garment from the solution and blot the stained area with paper towels.
- Rub stain gently with an old toothbrush. Do not rub too hard or you may damage the fabric.
- Rinse the stain with cold water. Blot it with paper towels again once it is rinsed.
- Wash the garment in the washing machine on a short cycle.
- Lay the garment flat to dry or put it in dryer on the lowest setting.
Tips
- If the stain is still visible after following these steps, you can try repeating the process or using an enzyme-based laundry detergent.
- Be sure to test the cleaning solution on a small, inconspicuous area of the garment before using it on the stain.
