Removing nail polish stains from clothing can be a tricky task, but it's not impossible. One of the most common surfaces that may suffer from nail polish stains is socks. With all the different fabrics, designs, and colors of socks, it’s easy to assume that cleaning up nail polish stains will be more complicated than it is. However, with the correct approach and materials, it’s possible to make your socks look as good as new.

Materials Needed

  • Waterproof stain remover
  • Cotton swab
  • Small bowl

Instructions

  1. Apply a waterproof stain remover directly onto the fabric of the sock. Gently rub the remover in with a cotton swab. This should loosen the stain, making it easier to remove.
  2. Once you have rubbed in remover, fill a small bowl with warm water and a teaspoon of detergent. Place the sock in the mixture and let it sit for about 15-20 minutes.
  3. After the allotted time, take the sock out of the soapy water and rinse it in clean, cold water. Squeeze the fabric to ensure that all traces of the remover and detergent are removed.
  4. Leave the sock to air dry. Do not put it in the dryer; this will cause the nail polish to set, making it even harder to remove.

With this method, you’ll be able to keep your socks looking brand new, no matter how hard you (or your friends!) try to stain them. So break out the nail polish and show off those fashionable feet without fear!
