Step 1: Determine What Kind of Fabric

Skechers come in all kinds of fabrics, from mesh and leather to canvas and synthetic. The first step is to determine what kind of fabric you are trying to clean.

Step 2: Treat Stain

Now that you know your fabric type, you can choose the best treatment method for the nail polish stain. For leather or suede shoes, you should use a leather cleaner or saddle soap, and then use a soft cloth to wipe down the shoe.

  • For canvas shoes, you should dab the stain with rubbing alcohol immediately, then rinse with cool water.
  • For synthetic shoes, use a mild detergent to scrub it off, followed with a damp cloth.

Step 3: Dry Your Shoes

Once you’ve treated stain, let the shoes air dry in a well-ventilated area, away from direct heat or sunlight. Avoid using a hairdryer or any other household appliance to speed up the drying process, as this could cause discoloration.

Step 4: Shine Them Up

Once the shoe is completely dry, you can shine it up with a soft cloth so that it looks close to new again. This will help mask any remaining traces of the nail polish stain.
