What You'll Need:

  • Rubbing alcohol
  • Dish soap
  • White vinegar
  • Paper towels
  • Soft cloths or cotton balls
  • Old toothbrush
  • Hairdryer

Step-by-Step Guide:

  1. Before you begin, check fabric care instructions for the garment to make sure it can safely be cleaned with vinegar or alcohol.
  2. Mix 2 tablespoons of dish soap with 2 cups of cold water and use the solution to wet a paper towel or soft cloth. Ring out most of the water, then rub it gently onto the stained area.
  3. Blot area with a dry paper towel or cloth to lift up stain.
  4. Mix 1 part rubbing alcohol with 1 part water and pour the solution over stained area. Let it soak in for several minutes.
  5. Using an old toothbrush, lightly scrub area and continue to blot with a dry cloth until stain has been removed.
  6. If stain remains, mix 1 part white vinegar with 3 parts cold water. Dip a soft cloth into the solution and apply it gently to stained area. Let it sit for a few minutes, then rinse with cold water.
  7. Blot the area again with a dry cloth and use a hairdryer to dry thoroughly.
