To begin, you’ll need the following materials:

  • Warm water
  • Mild detergent/soap
  • Clean white cloths
  • Possible hairspray (depending on dryness of polish)

Once you have your materials ready, get started on removing that nail polish with these easy steps:

  1. As soon as possible, blot the spill with a clean, white cloth – do not rub it in or you may spread the stain.
  2. Use a mild soap solution and dab in onto the stain to keep it wet and help break down the nail polish.
  3. Rinse the affected area with warm water. If the stain is still visible, don’t worry – move onto the next step.
  4. If there are any remaining traces of the stain, spray it with some hairspray and let it sit for a few minutes. The alcohol in the hairspray will help break up the nail polish.
  5. Once again, rinse area with warm water and soap. Keep repeating until all signs of stain are gone.
  6. Allow the fabric to air dry, or if you’re in a rush, use a hair dryer and cool setting.

And there you have it! A quick and easy way to remove those nasty nail polish stains from your delicate silk habotai garments. Just follow the steps and you’ll be sure to rescue your favourite piece from a nail polish disaster.
