There are many ways to remove nail polish stains from silk chiffon, but it’s important to remember that silk is a delicate fabric so you should always take extra care when cleaning it. Here’s what to do:

  • Lay the garment out flat on a work surface and cover the stained area with a damp cloth.
  • Using vodka, gently dab the stain in a circular motion until it begins to lighten.
  • Mix a solution of warm water and mild dish soap and apply it to stain using the same dabbing motion.
  • Rinse the spot with cold water and set the garment aside to dry.

It's also possible to use vinegar as an effective cleaning agent for nail polish stains on silk chiffon. Simply mix a solution of equal parts white vinegar and water and apply it to the spot with a clean rag. Rub the stain gently until it fades, then rinse with cold water and hang to dry.

For tougher stains, you can use a spot remover specifically formulated for silk. Follow the package directions and take extra care not to damage the fabric. Once you’ve treated the stain, rinse it and let the garment hang dry.

With a bit of patience and the right tools, you can quickly and safely erase nail polish stains from your beloved silk chiffon garments. And best of all, they’ll look like new!
