Step One: Use Rubbing Alcohol and White Vinegar

Start by dabbing stain with rubbing alcohol and a cotton ball or cloth. Then, mix white vinegar and lukewarm water in a bowl, 1 part vinegar to 3 parts warm water. Submerge a clean cloth into the vinegar mixture, wring it out and dab the stain.

Step Two: Rub and Rinse

Gently rub the stain with the damp cloth. Once you’ve done this, rinse the area with cold water and dry with a towel. The stain should be significantly reduced, if not gone altogether.

Step Three: Opt for Soap

If the stain remains, wet it with a cloth and then apply a little liquid dish or laundry soap. Gently rub the stain with a soft cloth and rinse with cold water. Repeat the process if necessary and then blot the area with a paper towel to dry.

Step Four: Use Detergent

If the stain still persists, make a thick paste of detergent and cold water and spread it over the stain until it’s completely covered. Allow the paste to sit for 15 minutes, and then rinse it off with cold water. Blot the area with a paper towel until it is completely dry.

Step Five: Rely on Ammonia

If you’re still not seeing results, mix one tablespoon of liquid ammonia with a cup of warm water and use a cloth to dab stain. Rinse and blot the area with a paper towel until dry.
