No one likes to deal with nail polish stains on their favourite pullovers. It can be particularly tricky to clean such stains without damaging fabric or discolouring it. But not to worry, we’re here with our step-by-step guide to help you out.

First of all, remove any excess nail polish around the stained area with a damp towel. Don’t rub too hard as this might spread the stain further. Once the majority of nail polish has been removed, carefully use a slightly wetted cotton cloth to dab the stain gently. Do not scrub, as this could spread the stain.
You’ll need to prepare a cleaning solution that is mild and safe for the fabric of your pullover. To do this, mix together mild liquid detergent and warm water to make a solution. Dip a cotton cloth or a soft brush into the mixture and squeeze out the excess.
Carefully apply the prepared solution to the stained area and let it stay there for a few minutes. You may have to repeat this process several times before the nail polish stain fades away. Do not rub the stained area while solution is still on it, as this could cause damage.
Once stain has been successfully removed, rinse the stained area with warm water. Make sure to thoroughly rinse out all the detergent solution. After rinsing, hang the pullover and let it air dry naturally. Do not use the washing machine or tumble dryer as this could cause permanent damage to fabric.
After finishing the cleaning and drying process, check the pullover for any residue or discolouration. If there are any, repeat steps 2 to 4 until pullover looks like new and is ready to wear.
