Step 1: Dilute the Stain

Start by diluting stain with water. Using a bit of cold water and a clean cloth, gently pat and blot the stained area. Be sure not to rub the cloth too hard on the material, as this may damage the poncho.

Step 2: Use Detergent

Mix a solution of mild laundry detergent and cold water. Blot this solution onto the stain using a clean cloth or sponge. This should help to remove the nail polish. Again, be sure to use light pressure and dab the material, as vigorous rubbing can damage the fabric.

Step 3: Soak & Wash

If the nail polish stain is stubborn, try soaking the material in detergent solution for up to 24 hours. Then, launder the material in a machine and air dry. Afterward, nail polish stain should be gone.

Step 4: Stubborn Stains

If the stain is still present after following steps above, try applying rubbing alcohol or nail polish remover to the affected area. Be sure to test the product in an inconspicuous spot to make sure it won't harm material. Once applied, allow it to sit for a few minutes and then rinse with cold water to remove the residue.
