What You Will Need
- Absorbent towel or cloth
- Dish liquid detergent
- Isopropyl alcohol-based cleaner
- Hydrogen peroxide
Steps for Cleaning Nail Polish Stains
- Soak up as much of the nail polish stain as possible with an absorbent cloth or towel
- Mix one tablespoon of dish liquid detergent with two cups of warm water
- Using a clean sponge or cloth, apply the soap mixture to the stain
- Gently scrub the stain until it begins to lift
- Rinse by blotting with a damp cloth and dry with a towel
- If any residue remains, mix one cup of isopropyl alcohol-based cleaner with one cup of water and apply it to the remaining stain
- Let it sit for 15 minutes, then rinse off with a damp cloth.
- If the stain persists, try applying hydrogen peroxide directly to the stain and let it sit
- After a few minutes, dab the area with a damp cloth to remove any remaining residue
- Allow pet bed to air dry
Additional Tips
- Test all cleaning solutions in an inconspicuous area before using on the stain
- It may be necessary to repeat some of the steps to fully remove the stain
- Be sure to completely dry the pet bed before allowing your pet to use it again
