When tackling nail polish stains on Peau de Soie, it is important to act quickly. The longer the nail polish remains, more difficult it is to get out. It is also important to identify the type of Peau de Soie you are working with, as some materials are more delicate than others.

Instructions:

  • Start by gently blotting up as much of the spilled nail polish as possible with a damp cloth to absorb liquid.
  • Then, mix a solution of warm water and mild detergent.
  • Carefully sponge the soiled area with the solution.
  • Rinse the area with cool water.
  • Blot with a clean white towel or cloth until all the moisture is absorbed.
  • Note there may be some residue left behind from the spilled nail polish. To remove this, use a solution of one teaspoon of white vinegar mixed with two cups of warm water. Sponge the area with the solution and rinse.
  • Finally, air dry the area or pat with a clean, soft cloth. Once the area is dry, inspect to ensure the stain is removed.

Precautions:

  • Be gentle as certain types of Peau de Soie may be delicate and may not react well to scrubbing and/or harsh chemicals.
  • It is important to note that while these instructions should have no effect on the appearance of fabric, it is always a good idea to spot test an inconspicuous area first.
