Things You'll Need:

  • Rubbing alcohol
  • White vinegar
  • Small bowl
  • Cotton swab

Step 1: Soak It Up

Soak up as much of the excess nail polish as possible with a cloth. Don’t rub it, as it will spread the stain further.

Step 2: Blot With Rubbing Alcohol

Mix a small bowl of rubbing alcohol and water. Soak a cotton swab in the solution, then blot the stained area. Check periodically to make sure it’s not weakening or discoloring the fabric.

Step 3: Rinse & Repeat

Once the stain has been fully removed, rinse the stained area with cold water. Repeat Steps 2 and 3 as needed, depending on how stubborn the stain is.

Step 4: Remove Residue

If any residue from the nail polish remains, dilute a small amount of white vinegar with water and lightly dab the stain until it’s gone. Wash the fabric according to the care instructions.

Conclusion

Those dreaded nail polish stains don’t have to spell disaster for your favorite pair of overalls! With a few simple steps, it’s easy to remove even the most stubborn of stains. So don’t be afraid to take those risks and try out daring new looks - you’ll be prepared if disaster strikes.
