What You'll Need:

  • White cotton cloth
  • Cotton swabs
  • Nail polish remover or rubbing alcohol
  • Gentle laundry detergent or dish soap
  • Laundry pre-treater (optional)

Step 1: Blotting

The first thing you should do when dealing with a nail polish stain on organza is to blot away any excess lacquer with a white cotton cloth. Be sure to press lightly to avoid smearing the polish.

Step 2: Use a Cotton Swab

Once you’ve blotted away excess nail polish, dip a cotton swab in either nail polish remover or rubbing alcohol and gently dab at the stain. Again, be careful to not press too hard so that you don’t spread the stain.

Step 3: Soak and Wash

Now that stain has been treated, it’s time to give it a good soak. Fill a clean sink or basin with cool water and a small amount of gentle laundry detergent or mild dish soap. Submerge the fabric in the solution and let it sit for about 15 minutes. Then, rinse with cold water and hang to dry.

Step 4: Treat Stubborn Stains (Optional)

If stain still remains, it’s time to break out big guns. Spread a laundry pre-treater (such as Shout or Zout) directly onto the fabric and rub into the stain. Allow the pre-treater to sit for about 10 minutes, then launder as usual.

Keep Calm and Carry On!

You can now rest easy, knowing that your organza fabric is free of those pesky nail polish stains. With these easy steps, you can confidently take on any nail polish mishap that may arise!
