Assembly Needed
Before you can remove nail polish from a Nike shoe, it is important to have the following items on hand:
- Water
- Liquid dish soap
- Soft cloth
- Toothbrush
- Baking soda
- Cotton swab
Step-By-Step Directions
- Mix a small amount of water, dish soap, and baking soda in a bowl. Stir until mixture forms a paste.
- Use the toothbrush to apply the paste to the stained area on the Nike shoe.
- Rub the paste gently into stain using a soft cloth.
- Rinse the toothbrush and use it to gently scrub the stain with water. This should help to break down polish.
- Wipe the area off with a damp cloth.
- Dab a small amount of paste on a cotton swab and lightly rub the stained area. Then wipe off with a clean cloth.
- Place the shoe in a sunny spot for a few hours so it can dry completely.
Prevention Tips
To prevent future nail polish stains on Nike shoes:
- Keep freshly painted nails covered with a topcoat.
- Put a protective coating (such as a leather conditioner) on the shoe itself to create a barrier against nail polish.
- Store your shoes away from areas where they may come into contact with nail polish.
