Step 1: Remove Excess Nail Polish

Gently remove as much of the excess nail polish as possible using a paper towel or cotton swab. It is important to be very careful when handling the stain; do not scrub or rub the stain as this could spread it further and make it harder to remove.

Step 2: Prepare a Cleaning Solution

Mix together two tablespoons of laundry detergent with a half-cup of warm water in a bowl. Ensure that all of the detergent has dissolved before continuing.

Step 3: Apply the Solution to the Stain

Dampen a cloth or sponge with the solution and gently dab at the stain. Be sure to not rub or scrub stain; this could cause the nail polish to spread further.

Step 4: Remove the Cleaning Solution

After you have finished dabbing the stain with the cleaning solution, use a wet cloth or sponge to remove the residue. Do not rub the area; instead, blot area until all of the cleaning solution has been removed.

Step 5: Rinse the Area

Using a damp cloth or sponge, rinse the area with warm water. Blot the area gently to remove any excess moisture.

Step 6: Allow to Air-Dry

Leave the area to air-dry and avoid touching or rubbing the area until it is completely dry.
