Steps to Clean Nail Polish Stains from Your Kimono
- First, you need to scrape off the excess nail polish from the fabric with a knife or spoon. Make sure you don’t rub it as it might spread further.
- Once you’ve scraped off the excess nail polish, take a clean white cloth and soak it in rubbing alcohol. Now, gently dab this cloth over the stained areas to remove the remaining color.
- Now, take a quarter cup of rubbing alcohol and mix it with one teaspoon of liquid detergent or dish soap and blend it in a bowl or mug.
- Once you’ve mixed the solution, dip a cotton swab or tissue paper into it. Now, dab stained area with this swab or tissue paper.
- Leave the solution on stain for 15 minutes. Afterwards, dampen a cloth with warm water and gently rub the stained area.
- Once you’ve rubbed the stain, again dampen your cloth with warm water and rinse it off. Lastly, dry it by pressing it with a dry and clean cloth.
Additional Tips:
- If you’re dealing with more stubborn nail polish stains, you can try using white vinegar. Simply dampen a cloth with warm water and vinegar and rub the stained area. Then rinse it off with warm water and press it with a dry and clean cloth.
- Always remember to use a soft-bristled brush when cleaning your kimono. Hard-bristled brushes can damage the fabric.
