What You Will Need

  • Nail polish remover
  • White vinegar
  • Cotton swabs or cloth

Instructions

  1. The first step is to test a small area of the fabric for colorfastness. Dab a small cotton swab in nail polish remover and rub it against an area that isn't visible. If the color fades, that means it's safe to proceed.
  2. Apply nail polish remover to the stain and allow it to sit for several minutes. Gently scrub the stain with a clean, dry cloth.
  3. If the stain still remains, mix 1 teaspoon of white vinegar with a cup of water. Dip a cloth into the mixture and gently scrub the area until the stain lifts.
  4. Once the stain has been removed, rinse with cold water and wash as usual.

Additional Tips

  • Always read the care instructions on the clothing label before cleaning.
  • Be sure to use nail polish remover that is specifically designed for fabrics.
  • Use a mild detergent to avoid damaging the fabric.
