Step One: Gather Your Supplies
You’ll need the following to effectively remove nail polish stains:
- White cloth or towel
- Dishwashing liquid soap
- Vinegar
- Ammonia
- Rubbing Alcohol
- Hydrogen Peroxide
- Dry-cleaning fluid
Step Two: Make a Cleaning Solution
Mix together one teaspoon of dishwashing liquid soap with one cup of warm water. This mixture can be used alone to remove the nail polish stain.
Step Three: Treat the Stain
Place a white cloth or towel underneath stain and soak it in the cleaning solution. Gently scrub at the stain with a clean cloth and the cleaning solution to loosen it from the fabric. If the stain does not dissolve, try using vinegar instead of the cleaning solution.
Step Four: Rinse the Fabric
Rinse the fabric with cold water to remove the cleaning solution and any loose nail polish residue. Allow the fabric to air dry.
Step Five: Repeat As Needed
If the nail polish stain is still visible, you may need to repeat steps two through four until the stain is completely removed. You can also try using ammonia, rubbing alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, or dry-cleaning fluid to remove the stain.
