Accidentally spilt some nail polish onto your gingham fabric furniture? Don’t worry, you can easily eliminate the stain with a few simple steps. Though gingham fabric can be fairly difficult to work with due to the fabric’s tightly woven pattern, removing nail polish stains is not impossible. Here’s how.

Step 1: Blotting

To start, blot the stained area with a piece of paper towel, if available, or an absorbent cloth. Make sure you blot the stain and not rub it, as rubbing the stain can cause it to spread and penetrate into deeper layers of the fabric.

Step 2: Use Nail Polish Remover

The next step is to use nail polish remover. Dip the absorbent cloth or paper towel into a bowl or cup of nail polish remover. Carefully and gently dab the stained fabric with the nail polish remover-soaked cloth or piece of paper towel. There’s no need to scrub or rub the stain excessively.

When done, check to see if stain is completely removed. If not, repeat process until the stain disappears. Make sure to dab the area with a moist cloth afterwards to remove any residue left behind.

Step 3: Rinse

Once stain is gone, rinse the affected area with cold water. This will help remove any residual nail polish remover.

Step 4: Dry

After rinsing the area, use a clean rag or cloth to dry it up. You can press down firmly on fabric to ensure it’s properly dried up.

And that’s it! With these four simple steps, you can effectively and quickly remove any nail polish stains from gingham fabric.
