Steps to Remove Nail Polish Stains from Garter

  1. Start by dabbing the stain gently with a cotton wool pad or a soft cloth.
  2. Next, create a paste using one teaspoon of washing powder and one teaspoon of warm water.
  3. Spread the paste over the stain and let it rest for five minutes.
  4. Take a clean cloth and dampen it with cold water.
  5. Gently rub the stain in a circular motion to try and remove it.
  6. Rinse the area with cold water and blot it dry with a towel.

Tips to Prevent Nail Polish Stains on Garter

  • Wear gloves when applying nail polish.
  • Lay down some newspaper to prevent nail polish from spilling onto the garter.
  • If you do get nail polish on your garter, act quickly! The longer the stain sits, harder it will be to remove.

Additional Tips

  • If the stain persists after following steps above, consider taking your garter to a professional cleaner.
  • Be sure to read the care label on your garter before attempting to clean stain. Some fabric types cannot be washed with detergent.
  • Some nail polishes may not be removable at all. If this is the case, don't panic - there are plenty of ways to cover the stain, such as wearing jewelry or a scarf.
