What You Need

  • A dry cloth
  • Acetone or nail polish remover (acetone-free is recommended)
  • Washing powder
  • Bicarbonate soda
  • Hydrogen peroxide

Step One: Gather Your Materials

Before you begin, make sure that you have collected all of the necessary materials. This will make it much easier to remove stain and keep your clothing in great condition.

Step Two: Blot The Stain

Once you have gathered your materials, the first step is to blot the stain with a dry cloth. This will help to absorb the excess nail polish and make it easier to treat the stain.

Step Three: Dab With Acetone Or Nail Polish Remover

After you have blotted the stain, you can begin to treat it with acetone or nail polish remover. Apply a small amount of the solution to a cloth, and gently dab the stain. Do not rub it, as this can cause the stain to spread.

Step Four: Wash The Dress

Once you have done this, you should wash the dress according to care label’s instructions. Use a detergent and add bicarbonate soda and hydrogen peroxide to the wash to help lift the stain. Make sure that you do not put the dress in the dryer until you are certain that stain has been removed.

Step Five: Repeat If Necessary

If the stain has not been fully removed after the first wash cycle, repeat steps two to four until stain is completely gone.
