Step 1. Blot the Stain With Soap and Water

The first step in process is to gently blot the stained area with a damp cloth dampened in soap and water. This will help to loosen up the nail polish and make it easier to remove. Be careful not to scrub too hard as this could spread stain further.

Step 2. Apply Rubbing Alcohol to Stain

Once you have blotted the area with soap and water, next step is to apply rubbing alcohol directly to stain. This will help break up the residue left behind by the nail polish so it can be more easily removed. Allow the rubbing alcohol to sit for a few minutes before wiping off with a clean cloth.

Step 3. Use a Specialized Cleaner

If the stain remains after trying above two steps, you may need to use a specialized cleaner designed specifically for removing nail polish from fabrics. Follow the directions on the package and test cleaner in an inconspicuous area of the garment to make sure it won’t damage the fabric before applying to the stained area.

Step 4. Wash the Garment in Cold Water

Once the stain has been treated, it's time to wash the garment. Put the garment into the washing machine with cold water and a gentle detergent, making sure to use the delicate cycle. After washing, allow garment to air dry naturally. Do not put the garment in the dryer as this could set the stain.
