Method 1: Launder the Dashiki

The easiest way to remove a nail polish stain from a dashiki is to simply launder item. Fill a sink with cold water and add a few drops of mild laundry detergent. Swish the clothing around in the soapy water to create suds. Allow the dashiki to soak in the water for 20 to 30 minutes then rinse it with cold water. Repeat if necessary. Finally, hang the dashiki to air dry or place it in the dryer on the lowest heat setting.

Method 2: Prepare a Detergent Solution

If laundering your dashiki isn't an option, prepare a detergent solution. Combine one tablespoon of liquid dishwashing detergent and two cups of warm water in a bowl. Dab at the nail polish stain with a clean white cloth soaked in detergent solution. Work from outside of stain towards the center to prevent the stain from spreading. Be sure to rinse the cloth well between dabs. Once stain is gone, rinse affected area with cold water and allow it to air dry.

Method 3: Use Rubbing Alcohol

If detergent solution doesn't remove the nail polish stain completely, try using rubbing alcohol. Combine one part rubbing alcohol with two parts warm water in a bowl. Dip a clean cloth into the mixture and dab at the stain. Rinse the cloth frequently in warm water. Once stain is removed, rinse the area with cold water and place the dashiki in the dryer on the lowest heat setting or hang it to air dry.
