Gather following materials for this job:
As soon as you notice stain, grab a paper towel and start blotting the area. Blotting helps absorb some of nail polish, making it easier to remove. Do not rub or scrub the area because that will only spread the stain further.
Apply a generous amount of nail polish remover to the stained area with a paper towel. Let it sit for about five minutes. Use a damp cloth to wipe off the nail polish remover and check if the stain has faded. If it has, go to step 5.
If the stain is still visible, mix a tablespoon of dish soap with two tablespoons of baking soda to make a paste-like consistency. Apply the paste to the stained area and let it sit for 10 minutes. Then, use a damp cloth to scrub the area until the stain fades away.
Rinse the area with warm water and, using a clean cloth, wipe the area with vinegar. This will help disinfect it and remove any remaining residue. Leave the area to air dry completely.
The steps outlined above should help you quickly and easily remove unwanted nail polish stains from your cutting boards. With patience and the right materials, your cutting boards will look as good as new.
