As much as we love wearing nail polish, it can be difficult to remove when it gets on clothing. Depending on the fabric and the type of nail polish, you may find yourself struggling to get rid of the stain without making it worse. If you have nail polish on your cardigan, don’t worry – it can be easily removed with the right cleaning methods.

What You’ll Need

  • White cloth or paper towels
  • Rubbing alcohol
  • Dish soap
  • Cotton swab

Steps for Removing Nail Polish Stains from Cardigan

  1. Start by lightly dabbing the stained area with a white cloth or paper towel. Do not rub at the stain as this could cause stain to spread.
  2. Next, use a cotton swab saturated with rubbing alcohol and dab at the stain.
  3. Let the rubbing alcohol set for one to two minutes, then rinse the area with lukewarm water.
  4. If stain persists, apply a small amount of dish soap to a damp cloth and rub gently at the stain.
  5. Rinse again with lukewarm water and allow the cardigan to air dry.

If the stain persists after cleaning process, repeat the steps listed above. If the nail polish stain is still there, you may need to use acetone or nail polish remover. However, it is important to note that using these harsh chemicals could damage the fabric.
