Step 1: Gather Your Supplies

Before you get to work, make sure you have these items handy: clear nail polish remover (non-acetone); a moistened cloth; a dry cloth; a bowl of warm water; salt; and laundry detergent.

Step 2: Apply Nail Polish Remover

Dab a small amount of clear nail polish remover onto a clean, moistened cloth and gently dab the stained area with it. Do not rub the stained area, as this may spread the stain. Instead, gently blot the surface until the nail polish is removed.

Step 3: Rinse With Salt Water

Create a mixture of warm water and salt in a bowl or bucket. Dip the stained area in the solution and let it soak for approximately 10 minutes. This will help remove any residual nail polish that may be left behind. After soaking, rinse the area with cool water.

Step 4: Launder as Normal

Wash item as normal, using cold water and detergent, to get rid of any remaining nail polish residue. Allow the item to air dry and inspect for remaining stains. If the stains are still present, repeat steps 2 and 3 until the stain is gone.
