What You'll Need

  • Clean white cloth or towel
  • Hydrogen peroxide
  • White vinegar
  • Dishwashing liquid and warm water

Step 1: Blotting Up the Stain

First, use a white cloth or towel to blot up any excess nail polish. Don’t rub the stain, as this could spread it further. Continue to blot the stain until no more of the stain comes off.

Step 2: Treating Stain with Hydrogen Peroxide

Now that you’ve blotted up as much of the stain as possible, apply a little hydrogen peroxide to the stain. Let the peroxide soak into the fabric for 10 minutes. This step may lighten the color of your fabric, so test it first on an inconspicuous area.

Step 3: Washing with White Vinegar and Water

Mix together one tablespoon of white vinegar, some dishwashing liquid, and one cup of warm water. Now you’re ready to start washing. Dip the cloth or towel in the solution and begin gently rubbing the stain. Once you see that the stain has started to fade, rinse the area with water.

Step 4: Repeat if Necessary

If the stain is still visible, you can repeat steps 2 and 3. However, be sure to stop once the stain is gone, as over-treating the fabric may cause more damage.

Conclusion

Getting nail polish out of your brocade fabric doesn’t have to be stressful. As long as you tackle the stain as soon as possible, your fabric should be good as new. Good luck!
