Step 1: Test The Fabric

Before you start cleaning process, test the fabric of your belt for colorfastness by applying a small amount of isopropyl alcohol onto an inconspicuous area of the belt. If the color of the fabric isn’t affected, then you can move on to the next step.

Step 2: Apply Solvent Cleaner

Dab a generous amount of solvent-based cleaner, such as hairspray, onto the nail polish stain. Allow product to sit for a few minutes before using a soft cloth or sponge to dab and scrub away the stain. Be sure to use gentle, circular motions while cleaning to avoid damaging the fabric.

Step 3: Hand Wash The Belt

Once the nail polish stain has been removed, it’s time to wash the belt. Fill a basin with warm water and add a squirt of mild laundry detergent. Submerge belt in the water and gently hand-wash the item. Be sure to rub the fabric in a circular motion to ensure that all traces of the nail polish are eliminated. Rinse the belt thoroughly in cold water to remove all residue from the detergent.

Step 4: Lay The Belt Out To Dry

After washing and rinsing the belt, last step is to hang it up in a well-ventilated area to allow it to air-dry completely. Once the belt has dried, it should be good as new and free from any nail polish stains.
