Removing nail polish stains from your Battenberg lace can seem daunting, but with the right technique, removing these pesky stains is easier than you think. Here’s what you need to do:

  • Pre-treat stain with a pre-wash laundry treatment specifically designed for removing tough stains. Spray the pre-wash onto affected area and allow it to stand for at least 10 minutes.
  • Using cold water, rinse away the pre-wash treatment and blot the area dry with a clean cloth.
  • Mix a solution of four parts hydrogen peroxide to one part mild detergent in a small bowl, and then apply it to the stain. Let it sit for around 15 minutes.
  • Rinse the area with cold water, and then place the material in washing machine with a mild detergent. Wash it in the cold cycle and make sure to hang it up to dry immediately.
  • If any stain remains, you may need to mix a paste of baking soda and water and then rub the paste onto the affected area. Allow it to sit overnight and then rinse away with cold water.

Follow these steps and your lacey fabrics will look good as new!
