Supplies

Before attempting to remove the nail polish stain, gather these supplies:

  • Paper towels
  • Spray bottle filled with isopropyl alcohol
  • Soft cloth
  • Dish soap

Removal Procedure

  1. Gently blot at the stain with a paper towel to remove as much nail polish as possible. Do not rub the stain aggressively as this may spread the stain further.
  2. Spray the area with isopropyl alcohol and allow it to sit for a few minutes.
  3. Using a soft cloth and dish soap, gently scrub the area. Rinse with a clean cloth. You may need to repeat this step several times.
  4. If there is still a stain remaining, try using a liquid nail polish remover. Make sure to follow all the instructions on the packaging carefully.
  5. Once the stain is removed, rinse with water and dry with a soft cloth.

Prevention

To avoid future stains, use a protective covering like a coaster or placemat when painting your nails near an appliance. Keep nails trimmed short to reduce the risk of scratching or damaging surface.
