The sight of mustard stains on your favorite pair of wedges can be a disappointment. But fear not, these easy steps will help you get rid of the stain within a few minutes.
Step 1: Blot the Stains
Take a clean towel or paper towel and blot the mustard stains to absorb as much of the liquid as possible. Keep blotting until there is no further transfer of mustard onto the towel.
Step 2: Pretreat Stain
Prepare a mixture of mild detergent, warm water and white vinegar in a bowl. Dip a cloth into the mixture and apply it on the mustard stains. Let the solution sit for a few minutes before proceeding to the next step.
Step 3: Washing the Wedges
Put the wedges in the washing machine and select a gentle cycle with cold water to wash the wedges. If the wedges are too delicate for the machine, try handwashing them with the same solution you prepared for pre-treating the stain. Soak wedges for at least half an hour before washing them.
Step 4: Air-Drying
Lay the wedges on a flat surface and allow them to air-dry completely. Avoid placing them near direct heat sources like sun or a heater.
Step 5: Repeat if Necessary
If the mustard stains are still present after the first attempt, repeat the same steps until they are eliminated. To prevent the stains from setting in, make sure to get rid of them as soon as possible.
