What You Need

  • Mild detergent
  • Enzyme detergent
  • White vinegar
  • Towel or rag
  • Cotton swabs

Instructions

  1. Blot the stain with a clean, dry towel or rag to remove as much of the mustard as possible.
  2. Mix some mild laundry detergent and white vinegar solution together. Submerge the stained area of the garment in the solution and let it soak for 30 minutes.
  3. Rinse the stained area with cold water and blot it again with a dry towel or rag.
  4. Apply an enzyme detergent directly onto the stain and let it sit for at least 15 minutes.
  5. Use a toothbrush or cotton swab to gently work the detergent into the stain.
  6. Rinse garment with cold water again and blot with a towel or rag.
  7. Let garment air dry completely before putting it back in the closet.

Additional Tips

  • It’s important not to rub the stain as this could cause it to spread further.
  • Always test any cleaning solutions on a small, unobtrusive area of the garment before using them on the stain.
  • Never put a mustard-stained garment in the dryer as the heat could set the stain.
