How to Effectively Remove Mustard Stains from Ties

First, start by blotting away as much of the spilled mustard as you can using a clean white cloth. Make sure to press and lift cloth frequently to remove as much of stain as possible.
Next, pre-treat the stained area with a fabric stain remover. Sprinkle it onto the stained area and gently massage it into the fabric with your fingers or a soft brush. Allow it to sit for at least 10 minutes.
Once the pre-treatment product has been on for long enough, rinse the area with cold water until the suds are gone.
Finally, put the tie in the washing machine with regular detergent or a specialty cleaner for delicate fabrics. Choose a cold water setting and use a low cycle speed to avoid fabric damage. When the cycle is complete, hang the tie up to dry.
