Steps to Remove Mustard Stains from Sweaters
- As soon as you notice the stain, blot it with a paper towel to absorb as much of liquid as possible.
- Mix 1 part white vinegar and 1 part water in a bowl and stir together. Dip a toothbrush into the mixture and gently scrub the stained area. This helps break up mustard and make it easier to remove.
- Once you’ve scrubbed the area, rinse it with cold water. Repeat the scrubbing and rinsing process until the stain has lightened.
- Apply a small amount of stain remover directly to the stain and let it sit for 10-15 minutes.
- Wash the sweater in warm water with laundry detergent.
- When the washing cycle is finished, check the stained area to make sure the stain is gone.
- If not, repeat the above steps until stain is completely removed.
- Once the stain is gone, allow the sweater to air dry or use an iron on low heat to dry the garment.
