Using a clean cloth or paper towel, gently blot the stain to remove as much of mustard as possible. Do not rub stain, as this may cause the stain to spread and become more difficult to remove.
Mix one teaspoon of liquid dish soap with one cup of warm water in a bowl. Dip a cloth into soapy water and dab the stain lightly with cloth. Do not rub the stain as this can cause damage to stocking fabric.
Rinse the stained area with cold water to remove any remaining soap. If any evidence of the stain remains, repeat Steps 2 and 3 until it is gone.
Once the stain is gone, proceed to launder the stockings as usual. Be sure to use a mild detergent and cold water setting on the washing machine.
