Step 1: Blot Up the Excess Mustard

As soon as you notice any mustard has spilled onto your shoes, quickly blot it up with a paper towel. Do not rub or scrub it in as this will only make the stain worse by pushing it deeper into the fibers. You can also dip a cloth into water mixed with a mild dishwashing detergent and gently blot the stain until it is gone.

Step 2: Apply a Stain Remover

For tougher stains, try using an enzymatic cleaner specifically made for removing tough food stains. Spray the product on the stained area and let it sit for about 15 minutes. Afterward, wipe off the cleaner with a damp cloth and more of the dishwashing detergent solution, if necessary. Repeat this step until the stain is completely gone.

Step 3: Dry Sneakers

Once all of the mustard has been removed, shake off any excess water then stuff the shoes with paper towels to help them air-dry. Do not put the sneakers in the dryer as the heat can set any remaining stains in the fabric.
